Ivory Nicole
"What I’m most passionate about is my future -- and the way
I treat my peers -- and how I leave my mark on this beautiful planet."
Community Advocate
BIO
Ivory Nicole is a burgeoning advocate for the Trans and Gender Non-conforming community. Her passion for equity and justice acts as compass in her social justice initiatives and community work. As a black trans woman, she knew this transition was not about becoming someone better, but about finally allowing herself to become who she'd always been.
Identity
"I’m kind, loving, strong, beautiful, black."
Upbringing
"To be honest, I didn’t have the best upbringing -- but I never let that define me. My family wasn’t the most supportive -- I was physically, verbally, and sexually abused all at a very young age. I struggled through the foster care system. I went from high school to high school to foster family to family and numerous group homes. My mom was a drug addict and my abusive father was a drug dealer who died of HIV/AIDS. But I do not let this define who I’m meant to be."
The TransGEnder District
"Working with The Transgender District feels like home -- everyone is super supportive and uplifting. I truly appreciate every one at The Transgender District."
