BIO
Jupiter Peraza is an undocumented trans woman, activist, DACA recipient, and a Program Associate at the Transgender District. Her work focuses on immigrant rights and voter mobilization. Through her work at Manny's, a community civic and political space in the Mission District, she led a national phone bank program for Biden & Harris, organized a text bank that sent over one million text messages, and mobilized her community to write 25,000 letters to the swing states of Florida and Michigan for the 2020 Election.
UPBRINGING
As a Mexican Immigrant brought up in Paramount, CA -- a small city in Los Angeles County -- Jupiter grew up intrinsically curious and inquisitive about her identity, higher purpose, and place in the world as she navigated the staunch and toxic heteronormative ideals in school and at home. Movies, theater, and music give her the comfort that she needs to survive and persevere.

Identity
"My identity is my most-prized possession -- it is of utmost value and importance. I grew up not knowing who I was and constantly searching for what made me me.
After searching, exploring, shape-shifting, and pondering about myself within the city limits of San Francisco and the many wonderful individuals of the queer community -- I found who I was. I am proudly trans, I am undocumented, I am Mexican, and I am out of this world."
